He’s got a lovable, slightly goofy personality and a gentle presence that shines once he feels comfortable. A true companion cat, Fred adores napping alongside you during the day and will happily sleep at your feet at night, keeping a quiet watch while you rest.

Playtime is one of Fred’s favorite things. He goes wild for springs, foam balls, toy mice, and wand toys, and he’s especially entertained by laser pointers—or even better, those sneaky reflections of sunlight dancing on the walls. When the day winds down, Fred is perfectly content sitting beside you on the couch while you watch TV or curl up with a good book.

Fred can be a bit slow to warm up to guests, but he does best when allowed to approach on his own terms. He enjoys affection in short, sweet bursts and will politely (or not-so-politely) let you know when he’s had enough with a swat or an attempted nibble—he’s just honest about his boundaries. He’s comfortable being picked up and is tidy with his food.

Because of his long, handsome fur, regular brushing is important to keep him comfortable and mat-free. He enjoys scratching and is learning to use a vertical scratching post. Fred benefits from a deep litter box, and nail trims are best tackled with two people to keep things calm and stress-free.

Fred would thrive in a quieter home with older children or no children at all. He would likely prefer to be the only cat, as he hasn’t enjoyed sharing space with female cats in his foster home.
