Kate is a sweet young cat who is looking for a quiet home as an only pet with a cat experienced family. When meeting new people and in new situations she can initially be timid. Loud environments and lots of activity around her can be overwhelming and can send her into hiding. Kate responds to gentle pets and quiet encouragement to help her feel safe as well as giving her the time and space she needs to bond with her people in her own time. When Kate feels comfortable and settled she enjoys being with her people. She loves neck scratches and will flop over to ask for belly rubs, while purring to express her love. She likes sitting beside her humans and with encouragement will venture into someone’s lap for short snuggles. If invited she will sometimes climb into bed with her humans during the night. Kate is a vocal cat and will meow and chatter to ask for attention when she wants it. She is a calm girl but does still love to chase lasers and crinkle balls and enjoys playing with dangling toys with her family. She is neat with her food and litter and while nail trims require two people, she will tolerate them. She is not interested in people's food and understands that she is not allowed on counters. Kate is looking for a new home with windows she can sit by to watch birds and lay in the sun. Kate is an independent cat and has lots of love to give to someone who is willing to support her transition to her new home.
