Pretzel

Female DSH

DOB Aug 02 2024

In the past Pretzel did not receive affection from people so what she is experiencing now is new to her and she is embracing it.  She has learned to jump up beside people and ask for attention. She will gently place her paw on someone's arm and sometimes accompany that with a quiet meow.  Pretzel will settle beside people and occasionally climb into a lap.  If she is looking for people , she will call out for them, she likes to engage in conversation and enjoys following to see what they are up to.  She allows being picked up for brief snuggles and is quickly learning to enjoy this. Initially she is cautious around new people and new situations until she has analyzed the issue and then she carries on as before.

Pretzel is satisfied with her kibble, will occasionally eat canned food and shows no interest in people's food. She is not interested in going outdoors and passively observes birds and squirrels. Pretzel plays gently with her toys and is a calmer cat. She needs to be reminded to use a scratcher -  her favourite is a horizontal cardboard scratcher which she is quickly learning to use. Trimming her nails is a two person task, one to hold and distract, the other to trim - she doesn't offer much resistance. Pretzel is passive with other cats, but will not accept bullying,  she does not engage them in play so she would not annoy an older cat. Pretzel would enjoy a family with adults with/without older children.
