Rubik is an easygoing, gentle soul who likes to take his time settling into new environments. He may be a little shy at first, preferring to observe before jumping in, but once he feels comfortable, his sweet and playful personality truly shines. He would do best in a home with calm, cat-friendly dogs who will respect his need for space as he builds confidence. Other cats do not appreciate  his lack of feline social  skills. Rubik loves belly rubs and treats. Occasionally, he can become a bit overstimulated and may gently grab or nip, but he’s learning that this ends the belly rubs, and the behavior is already improving.  Because of this , he would be best with cat experienced people.  One of his favorite pastimes is watching birds from his cozy spot on the cat tree. He does get the zoomies a couple of times a day, but they’re short bursts—he’s otherwise quite relaxed. Rubik is a clean cat and uses his litter box appropriately without making a mess. Rubik is also learning how to play with toys. His favorites are tin foil balls and toys he can hold, bite, and kick.  He uses his cat scratchers -  never the furniture.  Nail trims are stress free with him.  Because of his love for food, Rubik may try to sneak snacks from the counter or your plate. He’s learning that this isn't allowed and is making great progress—he now tends to watch instead and will hop off the counter when he knows someone is coming. He will also chew plants  if given the opportunity. This happy guy is almost always purring and truly enjoys affection. He likes to be close to his people, often choosing to sit beside you or on your lap. He will follow you around the house or watch you from the window if you go outside. He doesn't try to get out the door, he actually runs away from open doors.  He also loves being brushed and will happily roll around to make sure you don't miss a spot!

Rubik occasionally has slightly crusty eyes, which is residual from a virus that he came with but does not require treatment. He was tested and is negative for FeLV and FIV.
