Batwing

Male DSH

DOB: August 7, 2025

As the most tentative of the pumpkin patch kittens, Batwing made his foster family work hard to gain his trust. He is a shy kitten who can be easily startled by loud noises or new people and will find a safe place to observe - normally under furniture or in the cat tree or tunnel. Once he feels comfortable, often after his braver sibling has approached, he will emerge and interact.

Batwing loves to play with toys, especially springs, and is often seen carrying one in his mouth so he doesn’t have to share with his siblings. He will also growl if he feels his siblings are trying to steal what he is playing with at the time. He loves to play chase with his brother, which often ends in a kitten wrestling match. Batwing has learned that being pet is fun and will wait patiently for his turn for love. He is very fast and is becoming a good jumper and climber. When away from his siblings, Batwing will sit with or near his foster for a nap or affection and loves to make biscuits on fuzzy blankets. He is very interested in hanging out with the foster’s adult cat, following him around to play, get groomed or snuggle.

Batwing is still not sure about their dog and doesn’t really enjoy her attention. Batwing will need a calm and patient forever home, with adults and cat knowledgeable children who will give him the time to adjust and earn his trust. He is food motivated and can be bribed with treats! Ideally, an older kitten friendly mentor cat would be in the home to teach Batwing that his home and people are a safe place and help him continue to build his confidence.
