Bunty, like her namesake from Father Brown, is a complex girl. She was outdoors by herself for several winter months after being mistaken for a locally owned indoor/outdoor cat. She came into NHKR care; scared and defensive. Her transformation is remarkable. She now asks for attention and enjoys being picked up and carried - not a lap cat yet.  Bunty has her limitations and regresses when overwhelmed - she will shy away and at times overreact, vocalize and leap away.  New people need careful analysis before she will accept them. Bunty has started vocalizing  for attention and will locate herself in the vicinity of people to receive affection. 
She is a clever girl and has decided outdoors is not for her, although she is  interested in the neighbour's handsome outdoors cat and if the door was open she would be tempted.

Trimming her nails requires two people , she protests but with firm control it is accomplished. Bunty does not overeat, she enjoys canned food and will investigate people's food if it is left unattended but she does not pester people for food.

Bunty has a large personal space when it comes to other cats - she tolerates males on the periphery.  Bunty would be happy as an only cat or she could share a house with older male cats that don't want to interact. Young children would be too active for her.

Bunty would like an understanding patient family where she can continue to develop more confidence.
