Pickle is a striking little black tortie with a secret. At first glance, she looks almost completely black, but catch her in the sunshine and you'll discover beautiful flashes of orange and subtle stripes hiding in her coat. She even has the tiniest bit of white on one back paw and a sprinkling of white hairs if you look closely. Pickle is the brains of the litter. She has an incredibly intense stare and seems to take in absolutely everything around her, carefully calculating what is happening before deciding whether it's worth her involvement. When she and her brother first started exploring the house, Pickle took her time cataloguing every corner before eventually deciding that her bedroom was perfectly satisfactory, thank you very much (no door dashing for this little lady!). She has plenty of kitten energy, but her play style is considerably more low-key than her brother's. She loves crinkle balls and fluffy little balls, and she has a particular talent for hiding in dark corners before pouncing on her unsuspecting brother. Being almost entirely black makes her remarkably good at disappearing into the shadows. Once her brother has finished his zoomies, Pickle's favourite thing is to cuddle up with him. She absolutely adores feline companionship and is happiest when she has another cat nearby. She'll even happily flop directly on top of her brother to settle in for a nap, apparently unaware that personal space is a thing. She also loves grooming other cats, so her future feline companion can expect plenty of enthusiastic baths. Pickle is a little more cautious with people and likes to make you work for her affection. A dangling toy or a few treats will go a long way toward winning her over, though, and once she trusts you, she's perfectly happy to be petted and picked up. When she's settling down for a nap, she'll let out the loudest purr imaginable for such a tiny girl. She especially loves having her chin scratched while she drifts off to sleep. Like her brother, Pickle isn't really a traditional lap cat. She prefers to settle down beside you for a cozy snooze rather than climbing onto your lap. She does, however, love being close to the people and cats she trusts. Pickle is very comfortable with other cats, although she's a little wary when the much larger elderly cat in her foster home gets too enthusiastic with his pouncing. Dogs, however, are a different story. She becomes quite panicky around the foster family's dog, even when he is simply walking around, so we are not recommending a home with dogs for Pickle. She would do best in a quieter household with another young cat companion. She absolutely loves having feline company and would be very sad without it. Her new family will need to give her a little patience and allow her to build trust at her own pace, but that patience will be rewarded. Once Pickle decides you're one of her people, you'll get to experience her enormous purr, her goofy personality, and her very particular brand of affection. She also happens to have the most spectacular yawns. When Pickle opens her mouth, all you see is one enormous pink tongue surrounded by a sea of black fur.

Pickle has excellent litter habits, eats very well (especially when treats are involved), and tolerates having her paws handled once she trusts you. Nail trims aren't her favourite activity, but she's a good sport about them. And while she may be the smaller of this particular duo, make no mistake: Pickle runs the show. She's observant, clever, affectionate on her own terms, and completely devoted to her feline friends. She's going to grow into a truly gorgeous cat, and we suspect that enormous purr is going to be one of her most memorable features.
